Makaylas Haven Auction 11/12-11/14
Amanda over at Flowerkissing is holding an auction on Facebook on Friday November 12 at 9 AM PST to benefit Makaylas Haven. I just read what Makaylas Haven is about and I still have tears in my eyes! They are a 504C non-profit created to help families of patients that suffer from Preeclampsia. Girly Girlz Bows is happy to participate in the auction for this wonderful cause! Go check out our auction item which includes a custom flower tutu, beanie hat and coordinating flower clip!
Parents that have complications with their pregnancies or with their little ones after birth are often faced with unplanned and exuberant medical expenses and costs associated with it. Many parents can't afford them but they do anything and everything to help their little babies, Makaylas Haven is set up to help parents relieve the burden of some of the financial strain that families go through. This really touched my heart as I was diagnosed with preeclampsia with my first daughter at 36 weeks and I was induced. Today we have a healthy, beautiful 3 year old named Grace. We are very blessed!

St. Peter's United Methodist Church is hosting is 20th annual Pick-A-Dilly Crafts Fair and pumpkin patch Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the church, 20775 Kingsland Blvd. You'll find indoor and outdoor craft booths, silent auctions, a bake sale, children's activities and plenty of pumpkins at this family fair. This year’s rain or shine event features over 100 vendors with a variety of unique home décor, yard décor, candles, food products, kitchen items, jewelry, handbags, embellished clothing, baby and children’s items with on-site monogramming. Many of our vendors are Greatwood residents, so come out and see the talents of your neighbors! Admission is FREE and strollers are welcome!

Teachers in the district request grants from L.E.A.F which provide resources to the students, staff and campuses of Lamar CISD that will supplement, enhance and enrich the quality of education for students in the district.

Pig Tails are cute!
I just love putting my little girl's hair up in pig tails! There isn't anything worse than loosing one bow from your bow collection making pig tails impossible. Girly Girlz Bows offers a $1 bow replacement program (korker bows are $2). I am starting this program out of my own bow misfortune. Just last week my husband took my little girl out with a cute purple korker bow in her hair and came back with no bow. :( Now you can easily replace that bow for a fraction of the cost.

Caps for Cancer
So something has been tugging at my heart to giveback but I just wasn't sure how God wanted me to do this. My husband and I have several small companies (we are the uber-entrepreneurs) and I just couldn't see the fit....until Layla Grace. I'm not sure if you have heard about her (if you are in Houston good chances are that you have) but she is a little gift from God that has an amazing story to tell. Layla Grace was a beautiful two year old little girl who gave her all in fighting cancer, Neuroblastoma to be exact. She is an inspiration to many and it is her story that made me know what I can do to help. You can read her family's blog, http://www.laylagrace.org/ to find out more about her brave fight (have tissues handy) but it is how she inspired and touched so many that is truly the work of God.
Because of Layla Grace I want to help other Girly Girlz out there that are fighting the brave fight against cancer. Just because these girls may not have hair doesn't mean they aren't still Girly Girlz deep down. I'd like to give away beanies adorned with a flower or bow (your choice) to these beautiful girls!
